Bushwick Bound 2016

Gallery artists, Rob Neilson & Tony Conrad, and gallery owner, Frank Juarez, travel to Bushwick for a weekend of checking out exhibitions, networking, and studio visits.

For the past two years, one of our studio visits has been to visit Rob de Oude. Frank met Rob two years ago with gallery artist, Melissa Dorn Richards. Since then they’ve stayed in touch. He was in a show called I Listen to Color (June 2014) at the gallery. It is always great to catch up.

Going to Bushwick is starting to become an annual tradition. A great excuse to see what is happening in NY and meeting other artists either by appointment or by spontaneity. One artist that we finally met was Paul D’ Agostino. We walked into Studio 10 owned and operated by Lawrence Greenberg and there he was. Talk about a small world.

Galleries visited were Lesley Keller Workspace, Robert Henry Contemporary, HG Contemporary, The Curator, Margaret Thatcher Projects, Jim Kempner Fine Art, Bruce Silverstein, McKenzie Fine Art, Inc., Transmitter, TSA NY, Art 3, Betty Cunningham Gallery, Stephen Romano Gallery, Luhring Augustine, Gagosian, James Cohan Gallery, Pace, Studio 10, Galerie Richard, De Buck Gallery, Victori + Mo, Andrea Rosen Gallery, and much more. Not to mention all of the fabulous murals throughout our visit.

Here is a glimpse of what we experienced.
